I had a few free hours before the March 30th 12am deadline for Strand Book Store Tote Bag Contest and since I spend so much time and money in that amazing store, I thought I would take a crack at it. At 11:59pm I sent in my entry. I didn’t win, but I’m happy to have been one of the 20 finalists.
It will be exhibited, along with the other finalists’ and winning images, at the School of Visual Arts’ Westside lobby (133 West 21st Street), from June 22 through July 5.

Kind of funny that the same time you start redesigning your site is when it is featured on a bunch of css gallery websites.

So far my mockups of the new site hold the same feel and i would say its more of a refresh rather than redesign. Hopefully you internet people like the redesign as much as you like this current site.
This current site has been up for about a year now, and ready for a bit of a refresh. I’m pretty sure it wont be drastic, I mostly want to refine the code and a keep it in the same general visual language I have now. I will be keeping the backend Wordpress and most likely use the great Thematic Framework as a starting point. This redesign should also re-kickstart my momentum of the Open Source Wordpress Portfolio I have been threatening to make for the past year.
I am working on a bunch of freelance projects but I hope to squeeze some time for whenever I can. I’m excited to get started. Please send me any suggestions you might have for me on how you would improve this site or some inspiration of other portfolio sites. Leave a comment or find me on twitter
I have recently graduated a few weeks ago and I am really excited for whats to come in the new year. I have started to join the fun of the “Make Something Cool Every Day” project. Here is my first contribution.
This Smashing Magazine article showcases a bunch of very talented designers already doing this. I am sure many designers out there are also making this same new years resolution.

I have been lucky enough to be invited by guest curator Ben Peterson to contribute to a show titled “Wearing Whitman’s Words; A Typographic Exploration” at Lucky Gallery. I am in very good company with: Friends of Type, Jennifer Heuer, Jessica Hische, Justin Thomas Kay, Pablo A. Medina, Meg Paradise, Pillow Fort, and Travis Simon all contributing their talents.
Each designer was asked to make selections from Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman to visually explore letter forms. The designed words will be displayed on the front of t-shirts with the selected text written on the back in a font consistent across each of the shirts. This contrast will highlight how the shape of letters can add meaning to the words we read. Everyone attending the opening will receive a free shirt from the show, extending the exhibition beyond the gallery walls.
The opening is Saturday, December 5th from 6-9 pm and runs till January 10th.
